Yes for those at LMC then you might have just noticed I came in 2nd place to boosty for the highest back end..

this i must point out is not intentional but standard.. I lowered the front and then lost time to do the rear..

What I also noticed on our run back on the back roads the best twisty bends and runs of all time. The rear end seamed to lift as I hit the bends knowing I had old shocks I didn't go to mad but it was real fun for sure..

So I have the parts I just need to do the work...

But on the rear end how many splines to lower the car is best..?

and explain large or small splines??

so Mark, erm, who's your fella?

large spline - outer spline

small spline - inner spline

a bit of both gives you fine adjustment

Ramdom shot when we were all sat down for a proper Dinner and it was just a random shot..

I have just moved the silver 65 down 1 spline from inside thecar not on the torision bar and it has lowered it a huge amount!!!!!

you need to adjust the inner splines the other way. eg, 1 outer spline then 2 inner splines will give you a small change in ride height. There is a guide on teh web somewhere that gives you the calculations to work out how many splines give what ride height change

The info you need. I had the links stored from when I did mine :)

You can borrow my angle finder if you like, it's a plastic thing as shown in these pictures, simple but did the job.

Get it down....

Sorry Glenn had to post this, a thread regarding high ride heights has to include a picture of your car

To be honest as soon as the torsion bar is completely removed to the do the inner splines, its near on impossible to count the splines moved. You will need to mark the position of the spring plate and use that as a datum to measure change using the tool to measure angle, or fit it back up and put it back on its wheels to measure/view.

I had a look on Pelican and I found something but not what I needed which was a surprise as I thought the one place would be there.

any way I will check out the other links posted..

Alan your right when I lowered the silver 65 I did mark the orginal postion first but I am still playing with that car..

let you know how I get on......

oh yes it is really that high, I store a small ladder, just inside the door to climb in and out.

I am in the process of lowering it, and have move the lhs torsion bar 8 degrees (approx 64mm drop), but it has made little difference

Gary and I have concluded that either the other three wheels are holding the car up, or the suspension is sooo very high that I have only extended the wheel base by 64mm.

plan to do the rhs side this week, will keep you imformed.

Hopefully if am sucessful air traffic control will start to leave me alone
