Hi all, that are left

My wife and I were chatting as you do the other days about engines and performance etc and she said, "how much would Air-Con sap from the porsche va va voom?

good question thinks I  No idea I answer, but i'll try and find out....so here I am!

So any ideas, can air con be fittted to a 1972 911? ( I know some had it factory fitted) and what do folk think. I'm sure modern systems are far smaller and more efficient than the original, any thoughts.....?

ttfn

I don't have an answer for you but if you do a search on Pelican our American buddys are either takeing thier air-con off to save weight or upgrading to deal with the temps.

My own opinion would be that the power drain only comes into play at track days etc.

Extra fuel useage isn't an issue really. If it was this would be the Prius (sp) forum.

Intersted to hear yours or others findings on A/C.

Mike,

Personally I loath aircon as it adds weight and complexity, plus is an additional drag on the motor. There is an upside to this - I have most of the parts of an aircon system I stripped out of a car some years ago. Its been clogging up my garage ever since. It comprises the condensor unit and most of the pipework. It's yours for free. I'm and hour north of London bbetween Stevenage and Cambridge.
