Not so hot today though...
Sat up at the final climb so he could do something epic today. What a ride!

Only by the skin of his teeth! Brave, brave move with 50km to go and for 49 of those km he was heroic. Dead beat at the end but just got there!

A training ride for Milan-San Remo on Saturday?

Yes I think so. Good training ride. He said he attacked because he was cold.

He looked completely drained. I would be very tempted to stop and take a day off tomorrow. He just may of emptied himself too much for this SaturdayImage

I think there is some truth to this. They raced too hard

Indeed. I might put £5 on Valverde for The Tour GC.

Good week for British Cycling Tom Pidcock won his first senior pro race yesterday. Tom looked very strong during the entire race and the sprint wasn't close. Just shows that Wout and Mathieu are human after all. I don't know what Tom is being paid but it's probably not enough. In fact, my Belguim friends tell me he is in the top 3 cyclists mentioned in the press.

Cav now has 3 back to back wins.

G crashes more than a cheap 10 year old laptop. Down again today, 30m from an uphill finish.
Really shitty weather in Switzerland, and a dramatic stage today. Highlights on Eurosport later

That’s the sort of crash I’d have in a post-pub alleycat.

I’m pleased for Woods though. He deserved that.

I have done exactly the same as what happened to G although I hadn't just ridden 150k in the freezing rain up a few mountains. Just a very wet 85 mile Surrey league road race, one lap to go my numb hands missed the bars completely and it was arse over apex into the hedge. It was just as much a numb brain together with a very wet body, how these guys can actually sprint after these sorts of stages defies contemplation. Anyway G put Woods to the sword today and so won the tour, chapeau G you are one tough cookie.

Giro 2021 - Don't you just love it when an opportunist takes a flyer and hangs on by the skin of his teeth to defy all the 'specialists'? Van der Hoorn, stage 3, chapeau!

Giro 2021, pretty boring 2nd stage but Ganna in the prologue, the speed of that man, I couldn't have kept up with him in my 911!

The look on his face when he realised he was going to do it was enough to make a lesser man than me cry.
