For info Gary I ordered some new FAG bearings last month, expecting German quality. What arrived was a bit strange, the box said “Country of Origin Taiwan, one of the bearings said Vietnam, the other China. I sent them back as I wasn’t confident of the audit trail in their quality system

Left home at 0500hrs Sunday to head for the Tunnel and aiming for a meeting with Clive near the start of the Route Napoleon on Monday afternoon. After 520 miles on Sunday arrived at my stopover. Car ran like a dream, just soaked it all up. What a machine!

Thanks Ian, will check closely! Current ones have UK on so that gives a clue as to the age

These things are a 'danger zone' so I use Bearing Boys as I feel their product/source is better than most, but have no proof of that.
I think general suppliers do not do any QA checking whatsoever, but i would think Porsche parts are certified, but would still have overseas supply base.

I’ve used Simply Bearings for years as well as Bearing Boys (half my gearbox is from a combination of the two!). So should be ok

Agree. Used Bearing Boys for the front bearings on my 73T some years ago.
Still have to nip them up for the MoT!

Went to the Classic Motor Hub for the first time yesterday. Was nice to keep up with the other two.

But today I’ve nursed a little hangover after a very late night after the football - I’ve nursed it with Shiraz and it seems to have worked
