The new oil pump has been fitted. Also fitted a new oil pressure relief spring. It has fresh liqui moly 20w50 classic oil too.
I also welded up the top of one exhaust header to get a better seal against the head.
It's up on 4 axle stands at the moment so i am going to look at the front end justbto see if anything is loose or ill fitting.
Nearly forgot. I also ordered size 50 idle jets. Currently fitted are 55's and i just can't get the mix right.

Broke the engine mounts (again)... Second time in four years, and both occasions occurred at Tregrehan hillclimb! Time for solid mounts.

Over the last couple of weeks I have;
1. Fitted my Simonson Speedster seats with temporary covers in the form of black sheepskin rugs - conveniently exactly the right size
2. Swapped my Dansk Sport Muffler tips for un-baffled straight through and slightly longer stainless pipes
3. Refitted original 912 air filters to replace my 356 'rock catchers'
4. Fitted factory phenolic carb spaces
Net result of 2 & 3 is a significant reduction in cabin noise (93db to 85db at 60mph), better throttle response and what feels like a bit more power. Really pleased with seats which are exceedingly comfortable even without proper foam pads.
No photos as was too busy enjoying the improvements!!

Leave for 3 week French/Spanish road trip on 30th June to include LMC Legends and OutClassicLaw in Gaillac - returning home via Pyrenees and Bilbao ferry then DDK meet ten days later - so can’t do that too!
Thanks though, Jonny, James and Tom too!

I fitted new 50 idle jets down from 55. Not as fiddly as i thought they were going to be.
Took it for a mixed road 50 mile drive and the difference is night n day. Will check the plugs after it cools down to check the burn. Oil pressure was as it should be.
