Morning out in the 911 and down to a club meeting at Prescott hill climb.
Too hot, but cut the mustard on the M5 there and back amongst the MPV and EV's everywhere.

Drove it. 1st time in at least a year!

All be it only out of the garage and onto the the drive.

Got it up on all four axle stands. Topped up the gearbox oil. Then cut the header on number two and rewelded it back into a better fit. No leaks now and easy to remove / refit.

The jubilee clip i bought for the gear change cover was wayyyyyy too big so that's a return on tuesday.

Saw that it is running too rich, we'll have a look in the week.

Drove it back into the garage ready to add the aux fusebox and new gauges.

Still sore today. Wheel cleaner, fine wet and dry, and rubbing compound...



Thoroughly degreased the acoustic side panels, too.

I haven’t done much recently apart from drive it. After this years MOT and a service and a few jobs I’ve made sure and given it a good run at least every other day and it feels so better for it

Yesterday: Tweaked the front wheel bearings, about 10 degrees on the clamp nut for the MoT.
Today, passed the MoT...

Bad bit is just over 1000 miles last 12 months, used to do 3K minimum.

I blame the Boxster.

Wonder if I will get an entry this year?

I finished the tidy up/clearout of garages and driveway. The last of the scrap metal was weighed in today and the scrap tyres disposed of at my local national tyres centre free of charge.

The hoovering was done again, 3rd time since the weekend. Still can't find my flying chisel though.

Electrics and carb tweek tomorrow then hoping for the first proper run in drive on Friday.

I drove it yesterday for about 15 miles. The first shakedown drive. Not too bad actually, never went above 40mph and no long or steep inclines.

Today I drove it for about 40 miles. The oil pressure is now fitted and working. There is no response at the oil temp gauge.

I took it up to 50mph today. It's easy to notice the difference between this engine build and the stock 1.7 that was in it.

On the driveway the idle is spot on when it's cold and when it's warm. Driving it though it dies when stopping at lights junctions etc.

Brakes are a bit of a battle, I'm going to try different pads up front. i currently have green ebc pads i think.

When i got back i checked temperatures in various places using the laser pointer thing.

All temperatures were 80⁰ or less on the motor. However the header on the left side was much hotter than the right hand side. Going to pull the covers and recheck the valve clearances.

Found green stuff much on park with Textar..

I put some paper around the steering column so that the indicator housing doesn't turn.

St Gouéno final run - the problem is, unless you're very brave and just go for it, due to the length and the fact that you get to drive it at a meeting once a year at best, it's hard to memorise the bends until you arrive at them! That accounts (he says...) for my lifting when I shouldn't, or using a trailing throttle when I should be planting it to the floor. Well, that and advancing age... BTW, that's Damien Bradley's 800bhp Subaru hillclimber aheads of me. It's a hell of a beast, driven by really nice guy.

Really nice run in that video, super clean.

I doubt i will ever get there but seems an ace venue.

Are there any noise limits?
