Ahhh...Carillo rods. They are so good to see and look spectacular.
Mine have seen 8000 rpm this year a few times, so good imho.

Will be a fabulous engine, let along a fab car too!

On the ramp and there until completion :) .....

...it's taken me circa 24 months since the shell was completed to get to this stage! .....although if I had to wait another two years I still would. Through all my experience of my own resto's, of all the people I know who have done similar and shared their experience and through every single conversation about every step of the process with Gary I am 100% certain there is no better, more knowledgeable or fairer Porsche specialist in the country. I'm honoured to have Gary Cook at GDC Automotive build my car and know it'll be completed to highest standard :) 8)

Ironically if I'd only just finished the shell Gary could have started almost straight away and has space in his diary whilst waiting for other delayed builds to ready! ......if anyone needs any work or projects sorted anytime soon I suggest you get on the phone to Gary pronto!

Thanks chaps :thumbleft:

The eagle eyed may have noticed that instead of using the RSR intermediate shaft we went for RSR straight cut intermediate gears supplied by BS Motorsport - https://www.neilbainbridge.com/Products ... -INTERGEAR .

Neil Bainbridge produces a number of really cool RSR parts and these will give the engine that proper race motor sound 8)

Elsewhere my seats have came back from being 'refreshed'....

....these were looking a little saggy and worn with a few splits and cuts; Gary suggested I have them recovered and even James the trimmer said it would take less time to retrim them.....however the seats are genuine original 1974 seats which spent the first 30-odd years fitted in a 2.7RS before being purchased by Paul Howells and fitted in his ST with which he and Neil Primrose won the 2007 Tour Britannia so have great provenance.....and of course they're only original once!

With instructions to do the best he can, James at Steer in Style did an amazing job stripping, cleaning, partially re-foaming and patching the seats and whilst they're never going to look the freshest they're still original and look pretty damn cool 8) ....

The work on these seats along with re-stitching a couple of steering wheels and recovering my dash has been outstanding really great value. James and the boys at Steer in Style are doing a lot of full re-trims, seats and door cards etc for a number of Porsche specialist now and their work is some of the best I've seen. Definitely highly recommended although they're in demand but worth the wait :thumbright: 8)

Cheers,
