Picked up the 930 from Autovault on Friday so I can give it a bit of a clean before Hedingham next week.
Our daughter produced our second grandchild yesterday morning so took the 930 up the road to get some flowers.
Lots of appreciative looks in the high street lots of smiling and some pointing Cool I thought.
Pottered around for a bit went to pick up flowers.
Put flowers in boot and realised what all the smiling was about.
Slap bang in the middle of the bonnet was the biggest bird poo in the world, huge, enormous, massive! so big it had splatterd up the wings and the garage door I later found out.
Felt a complete twat, sheepishly went home and hid for the rest of the day.

This morning I tried to fix an annoying rattle on the drivers side window when its part way down but have decided its just general wear on the rollers and tracks.
Replacement required.....

+1 on that. I've tried re-greasing and 'adjustment' but it didn't make any difference.

Mine also. As soon as it's wet they don't go up and down properly as the mech is too worn to hold the glass straight with any friction. Job for the winter!

I am a founder member of the sticky, rattly side Window Club.
Passenger side has never worked right.
Fitted a new DME relay to my ECU on the 3.2 as everyone says they fail.
The one I've taken off is dated 1985, the year of the engine which has done 130k miles.
Do i have the only one that works?
Need to take the car for a good evening run (

) to see if the miss fire has gone.
Certainly starts better with fresh earth leads, (2 on the gearbox/body) and fresh plugs.
Last plug change was 30K ago and the gaps are still 0.7mm like the new settings are.
3 weeks to SPA.

Good one Revo,
Old Essex girl joke.....
What would you do if a bird c**ped on your car?
Dunno, but I'm not asking her out again!!!!!!!!!
For me!
I spent ages getting the ride height and all wheel alignments sorted. Looks fantastic, proper car now.
THEN.......
I drove it, misfire and smoke included, for a whole 20 yards, sitting on the floor. First ime since I bought a complete pile of bits, eight years ago.
What a day.
Thanks to eveyone on DDK who has offered advice, guidance, parts and even taken the pee! Helped hugely.
Cheers

Played around with a distributor, quite rewarding!
Next step is finding a test bench!

Checked out the cause of my breakdown - looks to be the fuel pump. Working intermittently at best...

Fitted a new fuel pump - not really a problem apart from petrol running all over my watch
Removed the temperamental high torque starter. Tested it on bench and it worked fine. Refitted it - still no better - whirs but doesn't engage. Removed it, took it apart cleaned it up, refitted it - same problem.
Removed it and re-tested it again with Ians help. Can't see what's wrong with it - apart from the fact that it doesn't sodding work
Ordering a stock one tomorrow. The high torque one has lasted about 3 years. Hmmmmm.
So car still up on stands but optimistic about being ready for Hedingham
