That seems a hell of a big difference - has someone welded in the wrong panel and then made it fit?

80mm? That's over 3" yet the engine cover fitted?
Hope Greatworth can detail the pulls needed to get it true.
At least the rest of the shell is strong to keep that true while the pull happens.
We all wish you good luck!

What is that RHD car on the side of yours? The nose of the inner front wings indicate SWB. Something rare?

Not sure! You’ll have to ask Camperco!

Quick update as I haven’t posted for a while - not much to report on the shell but work has been ongoing on the engine (cases shuffle pinned machined, boat tailed, line honed, new oil squirters fitted, oil bypass valve opened up and cylinder heads twin-plugged) in the meantime.
I’ve also continued assembling all sorts of parts including NOS euro-spec turn indicator lenses & housings front & rear, full set of restored ‘S’ gauges (tacho to be converted), repro parts for Heinzmann extinguisher, an 8”x15 unrestored Fuchs rim dated 6/73 (okay but a bit later than I’d ideally like), oil lines (thanks inaglasshouse and billy bean), NOS clutch release bearing and exhaust muffler straps (thanks again billy bean), and a NOS very rare set of f & r fibreglass arches from Russell Edmonds (yes they did make them, and not just in steel, and/or fibreglass wings), so not too bad all in all, but the main work to blast the shell and do all the metalwork won’t start until around June due to Angus’ 3 month lead time - he’s a man in demand! (and deservedly so)

Thanks Mark!
A massive - and very expensive - challenge I’ve embarked on here, not least because the 21 ‘72 SRs (as they are correctly known - i.e. 911 S with M491 racing option) were extremely rare and remain largely undocumented, but at least the shell’s great and a lot of the period-correct parts are coming together already. However I’m sure there’ll be plenty of headaches ahead before it turns a wheel in anger!
Your GeLo stickers will look superb on it though!
