Thank you for the kind comments. I have to say when I drove the car yesterday for the first time in many months I laughed out loud, it's an incredible car. Not sure I have ever experienced such an extreme contrast of compliance and utter insanity. For me this car was thinly disguised as a car for my wife on the basis of her old registration being on the car. The mixture of noise, weight, leather and aggressive styling give a real an tangible pleasure to the drive. If my wife gets this then brilliant and hopefully this will ignite a passion for classic cars in her and others when they see her taking the kids to school on a sunny morning. On my part, I am looking forward to just soaking up all the 930 has to offer.

Quick update. I took delivery of the car really before I should have, desperate to clean it and polish the paintwork and drive the thing. The garage were reluctant but happy on the basis it was a test to fault find.

Notes from my phone.

Drivers door lock button sticking, central locking not working, heater back light off on left, center led on dash too bright for side lights, rear light not working, drivers seat sticking check passenger seat, indicator stalk sticky, air con, yellow fog lights and main lights , side light bulbs, radio code, aluminium door strips to be replaced, rear leather seat pads. Sun visors need changing. Disable auto lock. Courtesy lights not working in door open position. Stone guards at rear. Valve supports. First gear difficult to engage at times. Radio staying on. Check geometry. Glue the headliner at the sunroof. Seat belts to be changed.

All in all minor stuff and all sorted after being back in with the garage.

Hopefully collect again tomorrow and continue the interior deep clean and get driving. Minor stuff now but all important in terms of the overall feel. I have the ash tray home, this will be getting stripped and sorted. Leather pad was stripped with solvent and then ruffed up with some light wire wool and then dyed and sealed. I am now waiting patiently on the metal box from my painter.

Side blades fitted, essential protection. I also think these are so much part of the 930 and a strong component to the image of the car, less so on a black car but against guards red or silver they are less than subtle which works well.

George Morrison who is bringing the car back to life also has a sense of humor. This was sent through last night when he was working on the car. Subtle change to the oil can that sits below the turbo, not sure if I will keep that....

Car home tonight, all of the issues look to be sorted. Some late night pictures when the wife and kids are asleep.

My pleasure, there's some good stuff on Classic Driver, it's quite a distraction from important stuff like rebuilding my car now that Sportwagen has finished with it.....

A very skilled technician at work, I have used William (the dent master) for years now. Top class guy and very thorough.

My car had three small obvious dents, all gone. 8.30am sat morning sun splitting the sky, good chat, I hour later job complete. 8)
