Tom, is this Gemini Blue?

Difficult to tell with the reflections, I struggle to tell Metallic Blue and Gemini apart. I think that might be metallic blue. Gemini is slightly lighter than metallic. Lovely looking car, is this on a website or did you take the picture?

Seen it on the Early 911s registry. They're trying to work out the colour as well.

I priced a new one and it was seriously expensive via Porsche. The original one looks solid enough, there are a few dents which I would like taken out but the integrity and cleanliness is the key element for me.

How bad is the fuel tank...?...you can strip the outside easily with a wire brush on an angle grinder...then spray with primers and then the appropriate 3M or Wurth type textured finish plus top coat....and the inside can be renovated with the POR products from Frost.....

Can you do this yourself...?...it's pretty straightforward, if you have time and space..?....

I have an original 72 tank I've been meaning to list for sale for several months.......stripped back to bare metal, painted in epoxy and then finished in the correct grey underseal. Will post some pictures soon.

Question on the front lights, I don't have the original front indicator housings. I have had to buy reproduction units, I sourced an alloy set that don't have the side light and I purchased a reproduction set from OPC in plastic which have all bulbs fitted. I think the alloy set are missing the indicator?

I cant remember the lights on my car can someone please confirm what the different bulbs do on a 1973 indicator?

Can someone clear this up for me.

The plastic unit is a very tight seamless fit next to the horn grille , the alloy sits out proud with the seal. I think in this instance the plastic are better.

Not sure if this is relevant to the fit of your indicator covers....but...they often require the gasket seals to be cut down in depth to allow the lenses to sit more flush

Certainly did with mine (sharp model knife) and I have heard this mentioned by more

Didn't know that one Jonathan - wondered why mine jut out. Is there any sort of guide online for this or is it a 'just by eye' thing?

The horn grilles should have a seal fitted as well should they not? I can't see them in the photos. That might make a difference to the alignment with the indicator units.

Thanks yes they should have a seal. This should make a difference as well as the recommended trimming of the housing seal.

Can you clear up the light issue for me, is the indicator the very last bulb behind the reflector? The one between the two screws.



In this picture the bulb is missing or is the indicator the center bulb?
