Looking a bit like a Christmas Present, it will need to be Black Schroth Belts when we're finished, but for now these will be fine.

Decided the original touring Recaro's are going to be stored, but need to decide on the final race seats,,,, I've put a few KG on in the last few years so need to find a more accommodating race seat.

Any suggestions?

Well that's pretty much the interior finished. Wish I'd gone for a cage with harness bar, so need to finalize the final location for anchoring the shoulder straps. I extensively reworked and strengthened the rear bulkhead and installed hard points, so this is one option, the other is to use the rear lap belt hard points. Something to consider.

I seem to have parts coming in from everywhere just now.

Thanks to Glynn for the fuel filter and cold start. Gave it a quick polish and started to manufacture hoses for the fuel system....I've got loads of fittings remaining from previous projects so decided to bling it up, well more truthfully I just want the highest safety.

Looking good. I too used the mega van mats stuff its really hardwearing and very authentic looking....so cheap too.

Hit bit of a roadblock with the oil plumbing.

I've purchased a full set of OEM Oil Lines for a 72, then realized that removing the oil cross over pipe was going to be a right mare with the engine installed.....so I've dropped the engine back out....physiologically a set back.

Upon closer inspection it's not going to be that much easier engine out.

I me now thinking of having a custom hose made up to run from the cross over pipe to filter.

So where to have a 70 cm hose made up with 90 unions on each end?



Following picture shows the correct continuos cross over pipe and swaged hose, with a spare later cross over pipe that I have. I've fitted a hose with a 90 union and looks like geometry of adding a 90 degree union will move the connector about 5mm closer to the inner tyre wall which should be fine.



Such a solution would be far easier than the hassle of removing the current hard cross over pipe.

Also need to get my hands on two of these to bring my oil filter housing back to OEM specification.

These are the insets in the back of the filter housing, which at some time have been changed for british unions.

They know the awkward 30mm threads and that is the difficulty here. 30mm thread unions are not common (anywhere normal) in the UK. I had similar issues when doing my custom oil lines in my racer.

Got 90 deg elbows etc from Elephant Racing in the end along with OEM hose. Delivery was all of 3 days from the USA.
Cut it all to custom length then had the local hydraulics firm swage the ends tight. Been good for 5 years now.

Elephant racing have some good oil line solutions and 26 to 30mm convertors. Mine just arrived.

Thanks Guys, I used Elephant for the suspension so long email outlining my requirements just sent to them. I'm also tempted for their solution to mounting the external cooler......keep you posted.
