Happy New Year, hope to visit West Yorkshire this year.
West Yorkshire .. good luck with that

…… I’d recommend North Yorkshire and northern Pennines for driving and countryside

I dunno man. What with Bradford being city of culture last year and Hull now named best in the world -
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/trav ... re-england - North isn’t even in the top 50% of the best Yorkshires these days.

Might have to go further north...
Itching for a short break in the Boxster.
Scotland too far for a few nights.

Finally got my horn button off. I had been trying to remove the inner part which doesn't come away! Two problems. Cover diameter is too large so blocks the pushers and horn isnt working when contacted. The other wire is connected to the headlights and works well.
More investigation needed

I thought the horn itself has a constant live, and the horn push button has an earth only which when you press it, then gives the complete circuit for the horn to go off. You seem to have two wires, with the live being the switching wire??

On the 356, it looks like the horn(s) has a permanent connection to ground and a relay contact switches a live feed to it. One side of the relay coil has a permanent live feed and the other is switched to ground, energising it, via the horn button. There's another very similar circuit arrangement for flashing the lights.

Finally got round to fitting H4 LEDs. They've even got a dinky fan behind the heatsink to keep them cool.
Here, with just the near side LED fitted for comparison ..

I put mine up on 4 axle stands (3t each sgs ones) and the car is nice and stable.
Stripped it ready to remove the engine and gearbox tomorrow.
My new pistons and barrels are here. Need to open the case and check the crank bearings and shaft before i order replacements etc.. i also want to see what cam is currently fitted and what cam gear so that i know if i need the gear aswell as the cam shaft. would like it all delivered in one go.

I added them to an order from AliExpress. About £10 for the pair so worth a try. Figured that they all come from China anyway. Link below ..
