We had a great time, if a bit frustrating with the changing conditions on Sunday. In the Modified Production over 2000cc class, we had 3 cars and 4 drivers, Paul (yellow491) in his 3.8 litre RSR monster, Nigel with his twin turbo 4600cc Triumph TR7V8, and Laura and I in our (very) modified E series Hillclimb car. It was close all weekend, but Paul won both rounds of the British and Midland Championship, with myself a reasonably close runner-up.
Everything went well with our car, the rebuilt gearbox is great, and I finished 0.8 sec outside my PB in much less than ideal conditions.
Good to finish the season with a good result and everything in one piece!!
An enjoyable event, great company and competition, and the end of another super season.

Not given yelllow a good thrash for a while so went the long way round via Coverdale to our local farm shop to buy a mars bar crispy .. always forget how much fun this car is when I’ve not driven it for a while … love it . I’d tweaked the mfi one click rich and it seems to be running sweeter than before . Need to give the clutch cable a mild tighten now it’s settled since CLM.

Thanks Andy … almost 23 years and I’ve lost track of the miles . I’m still surprised in myself that I still enjoy it and it’s usually the first choice when I open the garage doors for a blast around my area

Stunning James! Mine’s going on the dyno next week for MFI check and tune up… be interested to see what numbers it’s making

So ran up to Northampton Motorsport this morning for 9am, got the car strapped down on the dyno and began the runs, including for transmission losses and then did a full run up to 7,000 rpm and…
189.8 bhp @ 6,500 rpm and 160.2 lb/ft torque @ 5,335 rpm - nothing to be done whatsoever so I was away after just 1 hour.
After almost 54 years it’s still producing almost exactly what the factory power curves show in the book - I’m astonished!
We may increase the rather soft electronically-controlled rev limiter cut-off to 7 or even to the 7.3 red line however.

That looks good. Looks like the engine is quite happy between 4-6k. You must be pleased.

I'm not even remotely surprised, what with the speed you passed me at on the A28 coming back from CLM. I didn't have the balls to catch you up.
