Removed wiper motor for overhaul. I cannot recommend this as an enjoyable bit of spannering. Towel nearly thrown in on several occasions :o))

Spent this afternoon doing life laundry type stuff. Have stuck loads of stuff up on Marktplaats, got rid of about a hundred Swedish deposit bottles and tins, and got the stepladder out to pin up some Hot Wheels Porsches and posters that have been taking up too much space.





Not quite ready to get rid of my JP or Ferrari Eberlein calendars just yet, though.

That’s a job I have to do at some point …. From memory we have the same wiper problem

Fresh fluids for the 911 today. VR1 20W50 for the motor and back to straight EP90 for the transaxle. Had tried a synthetic 75W90, but reckon shifting was better with the old stuff. We'll see ... Always found changing transmission fluid awkward so fashioned a transfer pump with a clean oil can, schrader valve and some hose, all stuff I had lying about. Worked a treat.

Completed a job I've been putting off for a while - the distributor drive was installed 180deg out when the engine was rebuilt. Took the opportunity to fit a 123ignition I'd had on the shelf while I was in there.

Big difference from the Bosch 022 it replaced even though it had been rebuilt. I've been fighting the idle rpm against the distributor advancing and increasing the revs for ages and this seems to be fixed now.

Obviously went for a test drive after!

First chance to get in the garage for ages. Fitted a usb socket to the wire that should collect to the cigarette lighter. Quite fiddly to get a good collection because the red wire from the battery was much thicker than the wire to the usb socket.

Now we can charge out phones in the car. Quite useful for longer journeys.

Last hillclimb meeting of 2025 this weekend in the Lola.
Bit of a dull event for me, and about how it has felt all year.

However, Class win today and most importantly, the Class win in the Midland Hillclimb Championship, my 8th time!

What a car.

We had a great time, if a bit frustrating with the changing conditions on Sunday. In the Modified Production over 2000cc class, we had 3 cars and 4 drivers, Paul (yellow491) in his 3.8 litre RSR monster, Nigel with his twin turbo 4600cc Triumph TR7V8, and Laura and I in our (very) modified E series Hillclimb car. It was close all weekend, but Paul won both rounds of the British and Midland Championship, with myself a reasonably close runner-up.
Everything went well with our car, the rebuilt gearbox is great, and I finished 0.8 sec outside my PB in much less than ideal conditions.
Good to finish the season with a good result and everything in one piece!!
An enjoyable event, great company and competition, and the end of another super season.

Feeling a bit better today.
Repaired the jammed gear lever which restricted the car to 2nd gear climb on the last timed run.
Same issue as Shelsley. Fixed it today, but going to make a new one soon, metals on order.

The tacho also blew before the last run, I think I know why, so another one coming from China for £18.75, same as the failed one.

No expense spared on this car.

You all looked to be having a good time in your class as were many other class mates, another reason I was down-hearted, there is no group to get involved with in Over 2 litre so the day drags a bit.

Yesterday my youngest daughter was visiting home so we had a run out to the local ice cream parlour just like we used to do when she was little.
