Mounting a Massive Attack on my 73T/3.2 to find/cure the slight mis-fire at 3k rpm
Oil change and gearbox top-up for SPA trip
Booked a day at SVP for suspension 'fast road' alignment

Should then buck the trend for 911's to peeter out on long runs.
Scotland is bad enough, Belgium is far worse...

Just bought a Practical Classics special edition of restoring spitfires and GT6's...
Back to my Yoof with rosy/red glasses on.

911 fought back but I won in the end.

New/clean/more earth straps, new plugs
Fingers crossed.

Decided to change the oil for SPA. Drained ok came to the filter where the battle was declared.

I have NEVER EVER EVER had a filter refuse to come of 'normally'

I think I've changed the oil on this car about 30+ times, no probs, bash a sharp screwdriver through and gently twist.

today thought i would use my snazzy Porsche Filter removing tool.

What a load of tat. Did nothing, but it is good for doing the filter up later.

The can eventually gave up and i cut it all off with tin-snips and made an extraction 'tool' which worked a treat.
ME: 1
911: NILL, Zippo.

:albino:

13 litres later the engine humms and the level is 1/2 way.
See how it drives Sunday.
Chickened out of checking the gearbox level. will ask SVP to do it when it is on their ramp.

Big glass of Red is downstairs. :cyclopsani:

Picked the 356 up from Angus. Simple electrical problem. One of the wire to the ignition was loose. As we drove towards Angus' place we there was a very nice Ferrari stretching it's legs coming the other way.

It looked a lot like this one.

They later confirmed it was a 250 Tour de France which was being setup fora race.

As we pulled in by VW Camper Co we noticed another unit, which the Ferrari had pulled into, which was a like a treasure cave. I've never seen such a collection of car outside a major meet.

There was also one of these on a ramp

It appears it was this place http://www.timsamways.co.uk/index.html

Anyway the problem with the 356 was a loose wire to the ignition. It ran very nicely home. The Maestro's Special Cam provide much more lower end torque than the 912 :) It's not running hot now. The 912 had trouble keeping up but maybe that was because Mrs B was driving it.

Then we took the 356 and heading off to Sherwood Forest so about 250-300 miles in the 912 since collecting and no issues. It runs very cooly

Did more 'stuff' today, those seemingly endless little jobs!

Won a pair of seat runners for my Cobra RS replica seats, double locking, so nice and firm, 99p for the 2 sets! Sometimes the 'bay does work!

Revo, the target is Hedingham!

Tomorrow is alignment, and see what I can get done on interior! It may not have much before the Castle, but I booked the MOT today as well!!!!!!

Replaced the copper brake pipe to one of my rear calipers. A massive thanks to Chris Turner (butzsi) for the loan of his tools.

Had a nice drive with my eldest in the 911, up to the cemetery in Ulverston to put some flowers on my fathers grave. 15 years since he passed. Time flys, let's make the most of what we have. :)

I'm so sorry Simon that my car didn't make it because then we could have shared the blame. Would you like to borrow my avatar for a while.

It is when it prevents you driving one of the best driving roads in Scotland :(

.... Apart from that, nothing serious , just needs a new clutch assembly fitting

Spent a hour sorting out paint chip on my comfort blanket. Off to Porsche in the Glen tomorrow with a For Sale sign. My next Porsche is a burgundy 911T.
