Final stage in the resurrection... 93 days after the mishap, the car is now done, repaired, repainted, realigned. Phew!

Well done Keith. Now go out and drive it like you stole it.
On second thoughts…

Unpacked the 964 cill covers I ordered as I assemble parts for the respray. Mine have mostly broken tabs on the covers so I had to bond the retaining clips on to get even a half sensible fit. Pleasingly there is only one broken lug in these, so with a set of new clips and a good clean I can prep them.
Of course, I make it sound like I am going to paint it tomorrow, when the actually I don’t expect to get round to it for a couple of years

Received some LED bulbs from Classic Car LEDs (as Porsche wouldn’t deliver theirs because they’re not UK approved yet but thankfully received a refund from them pretty promptly) for headlamps and brake / tail lights only to kick myself because I’d ordered H4s whereas my car has H1s and they don’t do separate main and low beam LEDs which will fit - yet…
So back they go for a refund whilst Duncan gets suitable H1 LEDS into production in the next couple of months he says …
By contrast, the brake / tail lights bulbs were a straight swap and whilst the tail lights flicked on in a millisecond and seemed much brighter even in daylight, pressing the brake pedal had no effect at all. I changed the LEDs back to the original bulbs and still nothing, so clearly something’s up with the brake pedal switch by master cylinder (not easy to get to apparently) or the wiring to and from it to both bulbs. Maybe the horrendous downpours back from Shelsley Walsh on the DDK weekend had something to do with it? Anyways a trip to Greatworth without brake lights (

) beckons on Monday…
