I washed the Le Mans grime off it. Only took me a week.
Planned on fitting my new track rods today, but I really don't have the space in the garage and it's too sodding humid outside.

What is it? Looks like a mounting bar - gearbox? Why did you take the heads off?

Rocker bridge, holds the rockers in place in the head on a 616 engine.
Heads off to check for damage.

Could it be welded for the weekend using the head as a position jig?

Ouch, sorry to hear that
The pic was obviously giving me an odd sense of perspective! Good luck with it

Did the front pads on the Macan. Driver's side took me over two hours over two attempts. The passenger side? Under twenty minutes. Thanks dissimilar metals and thread catching! Cleaned up the rough threads as best I could, and still managed to get it boxed up without it doing the dreaded 'tight, tight, loose' thing. I'll be keeping an eye on it and replacing the whole hub assembly if it starts loosening itself off...

Checked everything twice on the 911 ready for Shelsley Walsh this weekend.
Will be nice doing a hill climb without the clutter of a trailer.
Going to be hot and wet!

Track day at Snetterton in the 997 Turbo S. Happy with 141 mph on the main straight.
Car is a MONSTER in the straights …. But corners not so much!

There is a good video of Ben Collins tracking his 997 (996?) v a model one. Both super cars but the new one is much quicker

On Sunday coming back to London from the hill climb in Worcestershire I got a bit warm and so when I got to the M40 I stopped at a services and took the roof off. Within a few miles it started raining very heavily.
At 70 the windscreen wipers were working overtime but I wasn’t getting wet.
I would have got soaked if I had stopped.
It was brilliant. At times the sun was shining at the same time as it was raining.
Luckily when traffic stopped it had stopped raining.
It made a potentially boring trip much more fun.

In a radical break from 100% original, I’ve ordered these LED H4 bulbs from Porsche Classic for my S as the Halogens really don’t cut it with today’s road conditions and modern cars. £155 + VAT for the pair and we’ll report back on how they fit and perform…
