I managed to get away from work a bit early so I dropped in the local car wash on my way home.

Did a couple of things FAR more boring than Rob's pic above.

Hot and breezy this morning, so washed the Boxster well and got a 'detailing' brush all around the boot hinges (white car shows all the green algae in all the corners, that led to flushing out the 6 drain holes which were all clear anyway, this is best done about 4 times a year I think.
Keeps the carpets dry, and the ECU totally dry!

After all that excitement had a go at the 911's brake pedal travel and master cylinder/pedal clearance which should be 1mm. There is no clear way to measure this, so guestimation rules.

The clearance was more like 2 to 3mm so adjusted, the pedal travel is a bit less, but not by much.
Don't know what else to do to make it better.

Did the final hillclimb checks on the Lola for the weekend's meeting at Loton Park near Shrewsbury.

Geometry check on Friday, expecting to find excessive toe out on the front as they were, er, destroyed by the time I got back from Spain!

Then topped up the gearbox oil as frankly its pissing everywhere
When I say topped up I mean added 1.5 litres…
It was brimmed before going to Spain!



Oil change before Le Mans and then make plans for a winter engine and box reseal, maybe with a new synchro on 4th as well as a treat!

New rubber, noice. What’s the capacity of the oil for the gearbox, I seem to remember only putting in one litre when I refitted mine after having the LSD fitted.

You’ll be running at the front of the group before you know it with all this work being done/ planned

And the other answer is 3.4 litres from dry

So losing 1.5 of it isn’t ideal!

I fear a seal has gone and I'm leaking hence the issue!

Took the 914 to get some petrol and test it after the new weber float was installed. It's running much better. Then I replaced the indicator led dash lights with normal bulbs and the funny flashing stopped. Normally, this type of problem is because led bulbs arent compatible with mechanical relays. A bit strange because I stalled a led flasher relay a while ago but clearly not the correct type??

Cruised up to the car barn at Beamish for their Italian themed cars and coffee members meet. Me in the 964 and Andy in his Pantera .

His car looks like nothing else on the road . Steady run as he’s just done a fair bit of work to the fuel and starter side of things to cure a hot start issue. With some more miles under its belt since the resto it’s running well. The Cleveland V8 does have a particular sound



I had to park away from the Italian cars

All this Porsche business….. I’ve got rid and getting down with the yoof

No idea to be honest. It's noisy and fast - my step daughter's boyfriend's car.

I'll give him one thing he sinks some money and time into it - it's a Toyota GT86 Aero JDM boosted to 300hp apparently.
