Had a rush of blood to the head yesterday and gave the engine a little clean.

Had a great 2 day run into North Wales, sun and wind in equal proportion in the Boxster.
Didn't take any pics oddly but one road in particular was outstanding, and even had 2 big vistas, but they were full of campervans and bikes so didn't/could not stop.
20 mph zones still there aplenty and very abrupt, but no police with ray-guns to be seen.
Once saw 26 mpg, tut tut, but averaged 34.
Wish i had been brave enough to take the 911, but that would have been very hard going in comparison.

My wife is sitting next to me James most of my Boxster miles.
My wife is sitting next to me most of my 911 miles.
I'm on my own on track in the Lola terrified most of the time!
But, take your point
The Boxster felt a bit dull in Wales in the sun tbh.
I over took 2 cars in 2 days such was the traffic, and the speed restrictions, but nothing to do with the car, just hard to justify it.

I’ve followed James when his wife is in the car Graham. He can’t talk
Different story when Jo isn’t there though

you've got me there Sladey

.. any hint i'm heading over 5k revs and a comment will be made
Graham, I did so little miles in my spyder last year, that when I do tend to drive it it is for a thrash around my local driving routes.
Reality is my wife likes a softtop, and the boxster is very good at it and very good for touring too. Saying that if I want to cover any distance in relaxed comfort I'll take one of our dailys

I accelerated briskly in the GT4 and the wife screamed, put her feet on the dashboard and threatened to throw up.

I had a nice little bimble up to Banbury for Angus to listen to the gearbox in my 911SC targa (mainly motorway, 170-ish mile round trip). Angus insisted that I got my top off for the trip home.
The drone from the 2 in 2 out (with added motorcycle baffles) seems less with the EFI, but that maybe just because I’m enjoying the induction sound. Luverlee.

The stuck engine lid release was sorted by Autofarm who also did an oil and filter change along with an adjustment of the MFI pump. Considered giving the engine compartment a bit of a clean then sobered up and just went for a drive.

Just in case...
I've been asked for the dimensions of the rear jacking point bracket i made for my 3.2 engine in my 73T
Thought it might be of interest to another DIY enthusiast.
Please may i say I won't make one for another car, takes a long time to fabricate!

Thx for the sketch Graham.
This afternoon, after house painting chores and while waiting for the first coat to dry, I pulled the engine out and took the gearbox off. All ready for Angus now. Anyone want a new thread from me as well ?
