Another day in Visualfx's workshop finishing off my carpets and helping with various other bits and pieces. I did discover that driving Garry's other machine isn't as easy as it looks:

I fixed the throttle linkage. Test drive to work tomorrow as I'm currently pi55ed

One of these options must be right:

Micks were slightly too big, guess they are from the gearbox pivot rather than the carb one, Andy's looked the right size but the quadrant was an MFI one and I didn't want to press the bushes out... So luckily the ones MDR recommended from simply bearings were spot on the right size. :)

Managed to get both headlights to fit (sort of...), and connected up heated windscreen (sort of...).

A 'sort of' kind of day all round, really.

Drove the 914/6 to Lincolnshire on Thursday, and had a pub dinner with several Porsche hillclimbers, then on Friday visited the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby http://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ , where they pulled this out for us to see -

It was pretty noisy inside when they started all 4 Merlins....... 8)

We all carry a full set of spare engines - don't we?

Sobering bit was seeing the 2 large plaques in the Chapel listing the airmen lost from just 2 Squadrons at that fairly small station.........

Then had a great drive back to Somerset along the Fosse way, missing all of the Bank Holiday traffic parked on the motorways! :)

Cheers!
