Not the most exciting of updates but a couple of jobs done:

Knowing of many issues with OE headlamp bucket fitment I trial fitted the headlamp to the new wing with its gasket. Went on first time, no issues at all! That’s one worry out of the way.



Then cleaned up the bonnet hinges for a dash of etch prime:



Plan now is just to clean bits until I get the call from Barry!

Gary, have you checked the line of the lamp surrounds to the curve of the wings?
Mine were around 4mm out, the rim proud of the panel, Dansk wings of course.
It was hard to get the lamp rims to sit lower to allow a good line between the two parts.
After the tweaks, theretension of the rim to the bucket was very iffy, too easy to pull the lamp off the wing.
Got there in the end.
Thought I would mention my experiences.

Seems to fit all round, and doesn’t pull off at the top. Too much paint would mess it up though as it’s tight. Hopefully it will all work out in the end!

Indeed, that is sooooo much better than mine was!

I was just going to paint the back of the hinge where it fits against the body, but got carried away!

I’ve also blown some on the mounting faces.

This is going to be very green!

From my personal experience, it's better to lose your mojo part way through a project then go back to it reinvigorated, than lose your mojo at the end of a project because of bad experiences along the way...

Gary you are a genius. I would think that most of us are in awe of your achievements.
You originally inspired me with a story which was called something like 'Juliet's least favourite car' and have continued to do so ever since.

I hope you have great health and lots of parts to fit at this time. I wish I had access to a garage and a half completed restoration right now!

It's really frustrating! Longer term cash flow risks prevent large spend, and having a family at home full time kicks in my 'hiding in the garage' guilt at the weekends!
