The only good thing about all of this rain is that all of the salt will have gone…..

Clean 911 and dirty Boxster, snap!

Might give the 987.2 a run tomorrow if it is dry. No salt on the roads in the West Midlands, we get protected from so much of the rough stuff here.
911 now sleeping until March 24 after a mega detailed pre-winter prep of raising the tyre pressures to about 38 psi, nothing else.

Meanwhile, “somewhere in England”, parts are gathering for a new engine in the JW hillclimb 911.

It’s the first change of engine in over 30 seasons of competition, so it will have a lot to live up to!

Happy New Year everyone! :occasion5:

All looking very promising Jonathan, nice GT3 crank and no doubt large oil pump! Looking forward to seeing it run.

Needs its own engine build thread I think?

Always surprised something like a 996GT3 crank goes into an early engine! Assuming that’s what you are building of course…

Sorry - I might have done it if I was building myself, but this technology is way above my knowledge.

It’s still a Mezger engine ………..

Absolutely! It finished the season, and its competition career, with three class wins at Wiscombe Park 8)

I haven't driven my 912E since mid november and boxster since mid december. We have lots of flooding around here and with no reason to drive other than for pleasure they've sat put on a trickle charger. Fingers crossed we get a window with drier weather before the roads need to be salted again.

Just back from the local National Trust after a good walk, coffee and shortbread.
The robin was there, nicknamed 'The Bandit@ as he will nick anything edible off the tables...

Went in the Boxster as the roads are actually dry and salt-free, clear crisp blue sky and it ran perfectly.

Might get some nice days next week, but a big IF to that thought.

Soon be spring!
