After throwing about 25K into a Cobra, I've just sold it for 20 because although I was close to finishing the car I couldn't get away from the fact that at the end of the day all I would have is a plastic kit car. It is a shame that after all your excellent fabrication work that is what you will have. It is a real shame you couldn't have started off with a real 356 be it bashed up and or rusty.

Totally understand your point but my motivation was never financial. When I was a kid my dad's best friend built his own car from scratch, I still think its such a cool feat to achieve in your life. I vividly remember the black and white picture of Malcolm proudly standing next to his Lotus 7 replica. I enjoy the build process from nothing but parts even more than restoring my Porsche 356A or the Karmann Ghia.Ignatzcatz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 05, 2026 4:39 pm After throwing about 25K into a Cobra, I've just sold it for 20 because although I was close to finishing the car I couldn't get away from the fact that at the end of the day all I would have is a plastic kit car. Drive wise looking to move into a 996 Turbo so selling the Boxster and 924 Le Mans plus a load of parts, both kidneys
