maverick
noun
1. an unorthodox or independent-minded person.
2. an unbranded calf or yearling.
Origin mid 19th century: from the name of Samuel A. Maverick (1803–70), a Texas rancher who did not brand his cattle.

First race weekend of the year in this.....

Image

All very close after many changes by all competitors over the winter. 2nd place on Sat by 0.3s (video later), 1st on Sunday by just 0.14s

Video here - keeping flat on the last kink of the back straight is key and focuses the mind!

Interesting video Wayne.
5 speed box? 2nd to 3rd seems a wider than I expected.
Nice track, never done a sprint other than Cuborough.

Often thought of using the Boxster I have after the Lola is gone.

Yes Graham - non S, so standard 5 speed box, save for a GAAZ LSD.

It doesn't feel long TBH, but not being a short shift helps reduce the gear changes on some of the hills. That said, the gearshift on a 986 is fantastic, and have never missed a gear in 4 years competing. The 5 speeder is lighter too....

Here is the 2 lap video

I will try and post more as we go through the season to give some insights into the different venues and the split discipline. Anglesey is wide, and all about hitting your lines, very different to a hillclimb...
