Continuing the idea of protecting bits without a carpet in the Luggage area.
I saw this on a SWB that was posted on here afew months ago (stone grey, was in a comparison article on pistonheads against a 997 ?) . Looked like a nice idea to protect fuse board, relays and also for carrying tents and sleeping bags etc...if it ever makes it to CLM
So got some aluminum sheet and a new hole saw...

(Lewis is essential metalwork viewing

)
I had added some stantions on the cross beam when the tank was out. This allows the new panel to sit about 8cm proud of the fuse board, and then attaches to the mounting point below the scuttle with thumb screws.
Will leave it raw finish for now.
Cheers
Chris

Dammit! All these things I keep thinking about doing, but never get round to it because I'm too damned lazy, and you do it in minutes and make it perfect. Grrrrr!

So the journey continues...Both cars were picked up on Tuesday and I received confirmation that they were loaded onto the container Yesterday. 2 days !! I had in my head that they would be sat on a north German dockside for weeks
Currently, it is me sat inbetween boxes as the house gets packed up, waiting for the Passports and Visas to show up...currently there are massive delays due to an 'issue' with the processing. We have been told that there is a current back log of around 50,000 applications

and we are in the waiting line. No Visa, means we cannot fly (easily) next Wednesday, no problem we will just wait in Munich....only problem with that is that we close on the new US House on July 6th and we need to be in the US for that...but thats nothing, the deposit for the house (sizeable amount!) is currently in limbo due to it being sent in Euro's and not Dollars, apparently it is somewhere!!! So currently got no house, no money, no passport....what was that about moving house being stressful!!!! Are we really doing this again ?
Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, these are on the way...
At least there is nothing old and leaky stacked above the cars this time.
Onwards !
Chris

On the day that the Modrod and its container buddy docked onto US shores, Keith confirmed that the next issue of Classic Porsche has gone to press. The planets aligned, it was meant to be.....and finally those photos can be shared.
Thanks Mr Seume, looking forward to reading the feature.....still not sure why Richard gets a bigger picture
Some would use this as an ideal point to draw a line under the project, sign it off, give thanks to those along the way etc etc.....but I have a feeling that the journey is not over yet.....and probably never will be
Onwards!
