So back to the calipers, we had discussed the original finish, painted, anodised or a combination?

So I took them to an Anodiser and he tested them, turns out the castings are just a standard Anodised finish with black dye, and the pistons are hard anodised.

So he stripped the remainder of the coating from my parts and retreated them to factory specs.

Meanwhile I sent the bolts and bleed nipples away to be replated and the de-embrittled, and ordered new seal kits.



There are a lot of parts for just four calipers!





First stage was to refit the new seals and pistons into the casting halves,



And the pad guides back on to the bridging pieces after painting the back to help prevent corrosion between the dissimilar metals.



Et Voila, a few hours later, with new joining pipes made up, all finished.

Nice work on the calipers.

Did you re use the existing pistons?

Yes, Pistons were in good condition so I just had them stripped and hard anodised as they would have been originally.
