And something to sit on...I'm split between the original Recaro touring seats and something more hugging.

Early start today to finally install the engine. Certainly wouldn't have wanted to do this without a lift.

Bad Boy exhaust..



May have to rethink this as is a tight fit behind the rear bumper.....but in the meantime quick adjustment for the second pipe

Exhaust, just my opinion but think you should stick with a single out or maybe triple. Never liked the twin outlet at either side

Thanks Darren....still got plenty of things to keep me occupied.....hopefully have her fired up in the next month then start methodically working through the never ending "snag list".

MSD 6AL Ignition Controller arrived, played with mounting it in various locations, finally opting to locate it put of the way on rear bulkhead which was also one of the only locations where I could gain access to drill holes into which I've inserted rivnuts to mount the four littl rubber antivibration mountings.

Finally getting round to fitting he engine loom multi pin plug. Still waiting for new one to arrive so for the need to crack on I desoldered the pins from an old plug to at least get everything soldered.

To help cut the wires to the correct length I made a little wooden jig. Also prevents any heat damage to the plug.



Cleaning the excess old solder from the pins.



Measure twice and cut once....holding the wires on the jig helps cut them to length.



And once soldered the pin is transferred to the plug.

Another thumbs up for Steve at KMI for his assistance in supplying the fuel pump to feed the MFI.

I've been having a long thought about how to finish the interior. The original plan was no carpet and continue with the weight is evil concept.

However after much debate and learning from a friend who builds campers for a living I've adopted his approach of using "van lining carpet". It's a felt like material, very pliable and easy to work with.

What's more pleasing is I bought more than enough material and spray adhesive for less than £50, although I don't know why I'm cost cutting now as I reckon I'm already more than £25K over originally estimated budget.



Thinking of a pair of Cocomats now for the front footwells.

Fuel and Oil System hopefully on their way so hopefully not too long now before I can fire her up.

If you have a "weight is evil" attitude, then forget cocomats... They weigh a tonne!

Thanks to Andrew Mallagh I'm now sorted with Filter buckets complete with cold start fuel squirters..





And quick tidy up of the alternator connections with identification, my standard sleeve protection and insulation boots.

Time to install my fifty quid interior......



Which starts with using the old mats as templates....marking around them with my fine tipped chalk.



Then installing into the car and using the fine tip of the chalk to mark final trim line right into the corner.



Half way through....



Little carried away and with material to spare....



This stuff is so easy to work with and IMHO gives a pleasing finish...

I put hard points into the floor during the build for six point belts....not the final belts but I have these from a previous race car...
