are they those adjustable ones that Chris Harris used, or other adjustables, or none-adjustable or what. Spring combinations settings - who advised on what to use and what have they been used on before

They are Bilstein RSR coilovers. The rebound/compression valving is 180/170. Spring rates are up for discussion, but we will start with 600 Lb/in.

That’s the nice thing about building an ST rep/hot rod and not chasing after concours originality.
You can do things you want to do.
I did want to stay true to an early 911 and some things were important to me. I wanted a true longhood, I wanted mag engine cases (7R) and a 915 ‘box.
Also most of the modifications should be period correct-ish but I’m happy to improve things with more modern suspension and braking.
I’m not chasing after FIA approval. If I need that for an event I’ll just borrow Mike’s car.

The braking is probably the biggest departure from ‘period correct’.
You’ll be seeing 6 pot fronts and 4 pot rears. I know from my 2.4S what factory installed brakes were like in the early seventies. Especially with a little more power on tap I’m prepared to sacrifice originality for stopping ability.

The car is looking great. I realise the bonnet is still in the colour it came in, but have you given any thought to a satin black bonnet and boot - seeing it on the car like that looks pretty good, IMHO

Please don't start on colour choices at this stage We have enough problems trying to educate some of the philistines around here that it will have bright window frames, when they all think it would look better in black.

BTW I rather like the look of the black bonnet

Mark, I'll admit I thought the same.
But no, it's all gonna be turquoise.
I've changed my mind on colour enough. I have sets of graphics ready for this car in dark blue, mid blue and white.
It'll probably be white. Maybe.
Certainly no orange stripes.

Oh and the window frames will be silver anodised and not black.
And on that point the client is always right.
(Richard the Paint and Nick the Chisel think they should be black).

100% with you on the window frames - IMHO the black ones remind me of an uncompleted backdate (again only IMHO)

on the graphics my vote would be dark blue for contrast (but I fully appreciate this is not a democracy)

I don't do jealousy. But if I did - it would be of this car and what you're doing with it.
