Hi, what oil for a1969 2.0 E spec engine running on carbs please?
For road use really, a few k miles per year.
And if it were to attempt a track day should I use anything different?

Hi I have a 1967 912 and not sure which Oil to use. I use Valvoline VR1 20/50 Mineral Oil on my Elan and Cooper S but not sure whether that is correct for the 912.
I had previously tried Valvoline Synthetic on the Elan and it leaked like a sieve so have steered away from Synthetics on older engines other than a race engine.
Recommendations gratefully received.

What oil please for an 89 3.2 with 176k miles engine rebuild at 165 miles ?Currently using Mobil 1 10 60 . Summer road car .

If your oil is euro B2 rated then why not stay with what you are using?

Replacing the first oil post engine rebuild.
914 w code 1911 cc with a scat 25 cam. not used for racing just fun driving.
Prefer nothing from usa.

Type4 engines love 20W50 VR1, thats what I put in mine which is a 2.2

And its a mineral oil with a decent ZDDP content in it, around 1300 I believe

I know of the company through various VW builds with fancy suspension - I'm guessing they're buying in an oil and branding it
