Just a bit of a tattoo, any good 356 can carry this no probs.
A nice reminder of the event every time you deem to wash her down.
My daughter went to Le Mans and now has the sticker on her fuel filler flap on her beloved MX5 for the same reason.
Patina is good, or "cool" as she would say..
Putting it or a fresh one back on seems a very good idea.

Well, not exactly 'my' Porsche but went along to Redtek today to discuss my engine rebuild. Nick was a little busy when I arrived so threw me the keys to this and suggested I take it for a spin

…..
….an absolutely awesome driving car!….Nick look relieved when I returned 45 minutes later!…his fault for giving it to me with half a tank of fuel!

….
Nick built this a year ago for a customer who's kindly run it in and then sold it back!

….detailed to resemble a 74 Carrera with some modern day upgrades, based on a 1978 SC, stripped to a bare rolling shell, full restoration and repaint, fully rebuilt 3.0SC taken out to 3.2 with 98mm Mahle barrels and pistons, twin-spark with PMO induction and lots more producing circa 275BHP +, with rebuilt gearbox, new Bilstein suspension and lots, lots more….it really is an incredible driving, easy to live with car and a great looking hot rod to boot!
Nick's intention is to use it for a bit before deciding what to do with the car, which means it's for sale!……I'll place a proper ad when he tells how much he wants for it!
Whatever the price it'll be a great value car for far less than the build cost….wish I had the sponds!
I suggested a Black Mountains trip so I can properly try the car out, great idea said Nick……hope it stays around until then!
Absolutely yummy!….
Cheers,

That does look like fun. And what a wonderful specification on that engine, I'd think 275bhp is conservative. Very nice.

Does look a lovely car. Would suit a DDK member down to the ground.

Yes please Darren! But she'd look way better without the duck IMO, and a bit lower too - and thus would become a perfect Q car. Tell Mr Fulljames to get at it!
Thanks for the kind words about my paint chaps - at the risk of putting on ever bigger stickers, its actually going to be a fairly straightforward blow over of the door with next to no prep time. One day I'll do the whole car.

I completely agreed with you about the duck tails just too many copies!

Monday ..... Drove the car for the 1st time since LeMans .... As most know because I never shut up about it

, my car started running like a bag of spinners within 10 mins of setting off to LeMans . I Had spoken to nick Fulljames at LeMans quite a bit and decided to bring it down to his to look at

. So, Monday and the car was driving like shite still and continued to do so for the 3 hours of crap M1 traffic etc , then as Sod's law dictates, 10mins from nicks and it cleared itself and started running better again
Today ..... Trundled back down south to Nicks in my little 1.4 petrol corsa hire car ( I'd forgotten what a real low powered car was like to drive ! ) . Nicks had a good play around , checked the motor over and re set up the throttle bodies etc . Couldn't find why I had the problem, but never mind as the motor is now running great ..... In fact it's pulling like a train, don't think I've ever had it feeling so strong

Just found this pic on Porsche 911 World magazine website from the Silverstone Classic at the weekend...me and my 8yr old arrived a bit later than planned at 9.45am after sitting in the queue before the sliproad off the A43 for 3/4 of an hour to find the PCGB area already pretty full.
Whilst being directed into the next available spot one of the officials walked up and asked if we'd like to park next to "that other car like yours in the main display?"....."...be delighted" I replied....easier to find it when I want to leave....
Mine's the white one with blue decals next to the £500k white one with blue decals....
Oh well.

Just entered the PCGB Region 5 offer to get into the wonderful Oulton Gold Cup race meeting in August.
£10 for car and two infield, maybe a parade lap like last year too.
Second thing is getting ready to put a good injection cleaner in the 911 to flush the faithful 3.2 engine out. Still a bit nervey to do this...
Game for Sunday.
The PCGB stand at Silverstone was 1/2 full by 8.00am on the Saturday.

Changed all the instrument lights.
Pondered over lowering the front end 15mm since changing the tyre size all round.
Looks a bit high in the front.

Spending too much time on the old thing.
Still have no illumination in the speedo, but lights everywhere else.
Why?
Still have an irritating vibration at 3K rpm, and deduced it must be a duff/lazy injector (stock 3.2 engine). One plug lilly white, others much much darker.
Spark at plug, thus no fuel.
Cleaned every electrical connection to that cylinder (all other 5 perfect) so time for a dose of injector cleaner in the fuel and/or another injector off eBBBayy.
Car is starting to wear on me a bit.(again)
