Sorry to hear that, Rich. If it's any consolation, car looks fabuloso.

Drove back from Spa :)

For once the UK side of the motorway network was playing ball.

Our camp:

And why we were there:

Not the result we were after, but both cars finished after much drama.

Weekend camping in the Lake District, amazing what you can fit in these old cars.
Thought it would have been busier, but hardly any traffic.
Hardknott, Kirkstone, and Hartside on the way home.

That's a bummer Rich.

Check that the pump is square. Very easy to have the pump at a slight angle this results in the belt running off the pump pulley and wearing away on the tin work.

Kind regards.

Spent several hours under the car fitting drive shaft gaskets, changing the wrong bolts on the UJs, fitted a clutch arm seal, and filled the gearbox with 3 litres of slippery Swepco oil. I was just about to start bleeding the brakes when it started bleeding raining, so as the car was outside on axle stands my young assistant and I got very wet. Inevitably, by the time we'd got it back into the garage it had stopped.

That's the last time I start a big project without a decent workshop.

I then discovered that the supplier of my rear bumper has now closed for 2 weeks holiday - some mad northern habit apparently. Perhaps they could have mentioned it when I rang them last Wednesday to try and place my order?

So not strictly for the Porsche, but this will help me take better pictures of it.

Cobbled together a leather wrist strap for my SLR camera. Hand stitched, and also found the Leather Letter stamps at work

Took off my DDK CLM stickers :(

And, as it turns out, some paint came too :( :( this is what happens if you put stickers on 40 year old micro blistered paint! Ah well, another momento of active service for the old girl…

Didn't get anywhere near a Porsche, drove for a total of 8 hours and had a 5 hour client meeting. Rock and roll

Picked my car up from Max as Revival. It has restored my love for the cars. I was getting pretty done after playing around with my 356 and the generator so much. However, Max still hadn't prepared the invoice so no idea of the cost. Maybe if keep quiet he will forget to ask :(

It ran very smoothing back to the office and home. The real test will be a trip to Scotland next month.

Trucked her into sleep

The car now idles at < 800rpm!

New Exhaust

New ignition leads too

Image

New 40 Webers on both sides

Image

New breather pipe I guess Max didn't like the one I fitted!

Jonny, I was going to say something similar to Gary

Two large gumballs on each door and design a stripe to run the length if the car and tweet yyrawlfmto a new look until you decide to respray the whole thing one day if at all
