Looking amazing, out of interest do you know how many coats of colour it had and how much paint was used.
Thanks
Richard

....thanks Richard, top colour coats will have been a light gripper coat to start with followed by a further 2 full good coats. In total we ordered 8 litres which we combine to guarantee there's no variation in the mixes. More paint than needed really and a little overkill.

Paint is solid PPG Nexa Turbo which the guys love to work with and being solvent based obviously there's no lacquer coat...

Thanks to everyone for the kind words, they're much appreciated :)

All thanks to this guy.....Chris left the company a couple of years ago to set up his own detailing and specialist paint correction business but continues to help us on a freelance basis when he can and really enjoys special projects like this.....he's poured a lot of love into the shell and it really does show.

He tells me it's the most terrifying paint job he's ever completed and likely his best work.....he's very proud of the end result and deservedly so. I'm really grateful for time, passion and commitment he's put in, cheers Chris :thumbleft:

Sorry if this is dumb question..
Is that the finish out of the gun, or the finish after the post paint finishing?

Either way, a real credit to the technicians who welded, massaged and then hid all that in such a colour!

Bight colours rule! :)

Finish target the Castle event 2022?

....that was straight out of the gun Graham and just a few hours old when the photos were taken.

The booth was given a spring clean and treated to new filters to keep the job as clean as possible. Chris also likes to paint at the weekend with no one else around to keep workshop dust to a minimum.

The paint has settled a little as of today although with pop beautifully once wet sanded and polished.....

Cheers,
Thanks Darren,
That's really helpful as a sanity check for my estimation. My thinking is very much in line with yours and I like the idea of having plenty left over. My first thoughts were to go with 7.5 just based on 5 being not enough and 10 being too much therefore somewhere in the middle should be about right.
My current plan is to use Lechler Macrofan, I've used it before and been really pleased with it, comes in at £325 for 5 Litres. I've just googled the PPG Nexa Turbo which looks like its only £140 for 5 litres on eBay, does that sound correct?

Thanks Richard

.....for 8 litres of paint plus activator plus thinners worked out at just under £500 + VAT.
