I can raise a smile now, but it's been years since I threw up, and I've never been car, plane or sea sick in my life, so it came as a bit of a shock. A messy one at that!

I’ve fitted the same to the 911 recently. To give an idea I can no longer heal and toe as the brake pedal doesn’t go down as far!

I've not looked at the Porsches for 3 days - been too consumed in this forum update!

Took the 911 to the MoT man (lad) who was not alive when the 911 was made, maybe his parents weren't either...

He did a good thorough job mind as I sat and watched his every move.
Passed (of course!) so paid up and smugly drove back home.

Took us to the local National Trust after picking up Mrs Hillclimber where we bumped into a long standing friend and DDK'r.

Gave it a wash and a hug and pushed it sparkling into the garage. Paid Hagerty the insurance for the 911 and the Lola, so that's me done and skint.

Thinking of taking the front of the roll cage out, finding it hard to get in/out 'gracefully'.

How do you find driving the 3.2 compares with the original engine? My 3.2 is really economical and fast with it. But I love winding up the 2.2.

The 3.2 went in in 1995, so a very long time ago!
Before it was a hot 2.4 E with S P&B's, and before that the 2.2T on Webers that came in the car when I bought the 'bitsa'.

The 2.4 was tuned to 180 bhp, mech injection and E cams, but what an engine, 180 bhp, mech inj.
Too slow as a hillclimb car, so sold for £1000 to Ireland (and a DDK'r it turned out).

The 3.2 came out of a wreck with it's sport gearbox @ 61K miles. The Bosch ecu got a chip from Bob Watson which is still in it.

It was so much faster, mainly due to the extra torque, but 230 bhp ish.
Doubt I have that now, the engine is 130K miles and never been apart, no smoke and carefully driven, 32 mpg, same as my 2009 Boxster, 250 bhp.

The major downside of the 3.2 is the boring soundtrack with the silencer capped, but that changes with the 3 outlets open.

That 2.4 gave 18 mpg. The 2.2 gave about 24mpg and seemed quick to me, but I was used to MGB's then.

My then young daughter needed ear defenders when in the back with that 2.4.

Above all, the 3.2 is a great touring engine with a linear output, the 2.4E was charismatic, and the 2.2 just a very nice engine.

There is a lot to be said for a nice 2 litre engine in a sub 1000Kg car, lots of time to wind it all up through the gears!

Safe journeys and post way on the diary thread

Met up with PCGB group. Poor substitute for not being at CLM. A good venue for a meet up
the Cotswold Barn is a few miles outside Stow on the Wold. The owners of the place are very car friendly. Large car park but groups can use the adjacent grassed area.

While you lot were being subjected to baguettes and camembert in le sunshine I was lording it up under this baby.

Still cutting out the floor, reforming the lips around the centre tunnel, back seats and inner sills.

Intermittent showers don't mix well with bare steel so the cover was coming on and off like Boris Johnson's trousers in the Foreign Office.

Changed the oil and cleaned the sump. I'm glad I did because there was some dirt in the bottom.

Adjusted the clutch and added a locking nut. The car is shifting much more positively.

I have a list to go through but ready for another trip:)
