I contacted the seller a little while ago and sounds like he bought the car in this form about 15 years ago and hasn't used it. Standard CC tactic it seems - request seller to drop the reserve near the end of the auction to motivate bidders! Hope it works for Martin.

Well on the basis that my browser seemed out of date before, I may not be correct, but you usually see a notification of the reserve being dropped when watching a car. So I wonder if the reserve was 65k all along?
