I love stories like that - great knowledge sir!Mike wrote: I even heard one grizzled old racing mechanic refer to the twin aluminium strips as 'rabbit bars'
Even if not true it's a good story!

A new look for a New Year.
In anticipation of an exciting year ahead I thought I'd try a different outfit.
So, in readiness for such adventures as a trip to Spa with the Impact Bumper guys, the 10th Anniversary Porsche RS trackday at Oulton Park, Classic Le Mans, and a handful of other UK trackdays, I dressed the car with a seventies motorsport theme...
As we know, the first diktat for the impecunious young driver is: 'tyre pressures up, back pressure down'.
The second rule of thumb for aspiring boy racers is: 'center caps off, stickers on'.

Thanks Tom, I've already had that from one of my boys... "Dad, you've got a sponsorship conflict vis-a-vis oil suppliers"Bootsy wrote:But which oil does it use?
Honestly, you try to create art and no one understands...

Very fetching Paul.
Will they damage the paintwork ?
Look forward to seeing it at Spa if not before.
Now I'd better get my decals on

My wife visited me in the Batcave whilst I was applying the first few stickers.MikeB wrote:Reminds me of the decal sheet you used to get with Scalextric cars
She looked on with dismay and said "there will come a point when you've put enough on. Try to remember that".
I have still got about a dozen other stickers left. Did I stop early enough?

As long as it's not another 12 Oil Companies !!!
I'm sure STP must be miffed they're not there, Duckhams, Texaco, BP, Mobil, Elf, Regent, Esso and Penzoil will be consulting their lawyers as I type.
And if the darn car's on Michelin rubber, you could atleast give them a plug
Keep going Paul, you can still tell it's a blue car
