Cool! That is great news - so looking forward to seeing this car. Get some miles on it and get that snagging list sorted. You can't be that far off now. a whole month. Eons...

Inching closer to the TÜV.....or maybe that should be Millimetre-ing

Finally got round to using the Plexiglas stamp. 450oC Soldering Iron and 20 seconds steady hand....Phew!

Not afraid to revisit areas

I wasn't convinced that my front strut brace was technically correct.....Solid bar makes much more sense

Received my independent valuation, and was pleasantly surprised. German system dictates that the value reflects the market value, rather than an agreed value. Tough thing was how do you value a 'unique' car, but the guy who came to my house ( unheard of German service! ) was great and very enthusiastic. The value was given without the TÜV, then it can be revalued after it has the TÜV stamp, which will have a positive effect on the value.

Hopefully I can get the TÜV sorted at the end of September ( just in time for the winter season  ) . Work and Family life seem to be getting in the way of car stuff recently...

Chris, do I understand that you now have a solid bar across between the struts rather than that nice tube and through tube set up ?

Hi Chris

Is it your intention to register the vehicle as Historic with the H Kennzeichen in the People Rebubic? Or were you just determining the value for insurance reasons?

Interesting to see the documentation you have collected as this is what I envisage dong with my 912 eventually.

Keep cracking

All the best

So whilst I am still waiting for the TÜV / registration appointment, I have been tinkering with afew little bits.

Label maker has been rescued from the office and is being put to good use...

I picked up a fiberglass seat shell afew months ago ( actually I think it was last year ). I like the look of the lightweight passenger seat installation used in period racing, for classes that required a passenger seat fitted. To get around the rules, teams fitted a fiberglass shell normally from a 904/906/910 etc to save on weight . I made up a set of support bars and trimmed some foam using the leftover from the 'new' tartan seats in the 912. I also have a normal seat option, but thought this would look good whilst riding solo.

I'd like to try that passenger seat out, but I would be suspicous of stabilizing myself on that very lightweight looking footboard though Chris

IKEA !?! That is Ebays finest, I think it is for a Cobra replica.....I agree it is currently abit new looking, will look at some ageing processes

I did consider adapting a dining chair...but one has no side support, the other too much.....
However I think the disappearance may have been noticed

Cool seat Chris but I'd be concerned for my head on the cage if something happened!!!!

I presume it's not for actual use?
