Iirc the bobbin is the spool under the foot plate.
Most machines have a high speed winding fixture to transfer the main top bobbin of thread, made by Silko, to the much smaller bobbin under the plate.
This was all a long time ago!

The auctioneer looked pretty perplexed waiting for the next bid, but it never came so the hammer came down. I pick it up today, the photo above was some random off the Internet so I'll see what shape it's in later.

There is a lightweight oil for these machines, but it all seemed like 3 in 1 to me, but it might benefit from a drop in the holes on the top head.
Otherwise, prob full of fluff!

I was debating Mobil 1 vs a good 20/50 multigrade, with hypoid oil for the gears.

Spent 1 hour fitting just 4 of the 24 RSR rocker shaft seals.
What an irritating way to spend time. Buy the Neil Bainbridge ones, properly engineered than these micky mouse 'O' rings!

Cut new holes in 1.8 cylinder head tinware to take into account plug location of 2.0-litre-style heads. How exciting...

I cut up some sunvisors. Super crispy foam won’t be going back in.

Collected some nice shiny refurbished callipers for the S. Almost a shame to put them back on being that shiny and knowing how dirty they will get

After seeing a co-competitors Lith-ion battery go fizz at Harewood hill climb last year, I decided to make mine quick release, as an insurance policy.

One flexi strap and two quick release terminals and it is out of there…..

BTW, it weighs only 1kg!!

Removed the bushes from my rally cars Trailing Arms today. The old bushes were a monoball type (the rubber within the bearing housing was shot – resulting in variable camber!). It took me 6 hours!

Why so long? Because despite the outer shell of the bearing being a very tight fit press fit in the Trailing Arm, some nutter had stitch welded the outer shells on both sides of each arm. What were they thinking? I had to grind the welds away, but first I had to dismantle the bushes so that I could get to the welds.

What a relief to get them out, Proper head in hands stuff, I had visions of scrap Trailing Arms and the worry of finding good replacements.

Maybe a glass or two of red tonight to celebrate
