Oh and, I can report the handling was not improved. Not at all.
Quite a scary drive home in strong cross winds and some damp conditions.
I took it easy.

The ST is alive. Bouncing over kerbs, lurching, diving, growling, howling, it's fantastic. However, the 993RS is probably quicker? Certainly easier.

Oh yes. Big fun. I was out there with 'moderns'. I was keeping up with some esteemed company. Most other participants were amazed to see a classic performing like that. I got so many thumbs up, approving waves and kind comments. Everyone loves that car.

An amusing moment was a gentleman talking to me and Ian (in the '68 911) "so how are you guys coping in those old cars?"

Sorry for the curt reply but I'm still reeling from the realisation that a new rear tyre is going to cost £315 + VAT.

bad luck on the puncture, but as already said could have been much worse.
I'm sure Nick will sort it out under his year's warranty!

I got one of Nick's 2 & 2 warranties.
It expires two minutes after you drive off or two miles down the road, whichever is soonest.

Good to see the car fitted with the correct 185/70 profile tires now ... you might need some spacers though

Seriously, glad it didn't end up worse for you or the car. And the Michelin's are an eye watering price but as you said in your earlier post they are fukin fabulous.
