Quite something, and a cost to restore 4 years ago.
Non matching number car mind. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Hey there, I have noticed this ad on FB marketplace for a chopped up and bitsa 356 reg: PRZ 3556 for £30K.
Just wondered if this car is known to folks on here or what your opinions are.
I mean at £30K it could be laugh to own for a bit a make it look like an outlaw possibly?
Thoughts?
Thanks,
K

.

It's still registered as a '73/'74 1200 Beetle & the days of such non-IVA cars are numbered.

Apparently problems typically start to arise at change of ownership, different (more stringent) MOT testers, etc ...

It was bid to Euro 160,000.00 and is showing as unsold, so even though they lowered the reserve it did not reach it

Lola Porsche anyone?

Probably one for Graham - I'm sure he needs a second one!

That must lead to interesting conversations with traffic cops! Looks like it stretches the concept of road legal but you have to admire their bravado

I'd put a full-width body back on it. Looks like a great base for a hillclimber, eh Graham?

The base of that Lola is exactly like mine, the car was famous for it's drivers in '77. It will have been a 490 that quickly got evolved to 492 spec. They build only 10 490's, so the car is super rare with provenance!
Lot of work in that car, and worth 15K.
If it has a lot of standard Lola parts, then with the Pinto engine (£3K) Mk7 Hewland (6K) and an Equinox body (£3k) added it would have it ready for the ever popular Sports 2000 Historic class where race-ready cars go for about £25- 30K.
Sell the SC parts for 5K?

As a road car it would be murder, and I would think finish the aluminium tub off, race cars like this were not designed for current UK roads.

I wonder where he got the idea from?

Brooksie on here is finishing off a hillclimb Nike chassis with a 2.7 flat 6 and lots of Boxster parts.

As it is, a great hillclimb track day car, about 510Kg all up.

The Kelly girl car driven by Divina was one of 2 cars made with a Kermit Green body, mine was the second. Kelly Girl was an agency for office temps at the time.
