Not able to get to the speedster at the moment so working on the other smaller jobs ready for the big day.
So for the price of a beer at last weeks prices managed to get the rim/tyre, rim powder coated, tyre back on;

Just need to work out the secret to draw the tyre back into the rim a little further

on the later alloy space saver rhere were two valves per wheel, one to inflate and one to deflate, there was a compressor provided as part of rhe spare wheel setup that could inflate / deinflate the type. Is that what you meant???

Hi Rob,
Yes exactly, only I don't have the valve adaptor or a pump that works in reverse - sucks!
I have managed to pull the tyre in on straps and let more air out as the tyre gets tighter, so now ok.
The original plan was to get the car back next week fully painted and engine back in ready for final assembly. My wife was due to be on a 2 week Caribbean cruise with her mother and sister and I booked two weeks off, hence I could go full time on the car and live on take away and beer, still many more people have got it worse.

Looking good Greg, love the colour, and my recommendation is to buy eggs and potatoes quite regularly till they've finnished the painting i
process...

Excellent Greg. Hopefully by the time it’s all back together, we’ll be out of this groundhog scenario.

Another doz eggs eaten and a trip to the farm shop for more supplies means another update;
Hardtop needed a lot of work so that the rear profile matched the profile of the car where the two meet, a 6 mm thick gasket fits and should give a good waterproof seal. Also the rear quarter windows now fit the roof profile and line through with the door glass.
The inside is going to get a coat of the hard wearing black bed liner.

I’d recommend a mountain of scrambled surrounded by a crown of fried and topped off with some lovely runny poachies on top

Visit to the local farm shop for another dozen eggs
Progress is looking great and nearly their for the paint. Given the hand made nature of the build the gap lines are as good or better than production car quality. Very little to complete the paint, fit the front bumper and just two more polishes.
Yes its Slate Grey, in my defence the colour was on the option list back in 2013 when I started the project.

Really plesaed with these locally made billet hinges. They fold all the way back so no catch needed

The profile of the rear bumper has been changed. The grp section that tucks under the rear valance has been removed, so looks like an original. More importantly it means the bumper to body gap is very small. The same with the front we have added four concealed fixings to stop any movement. THese are also adjustable.

What a great project!
I pop-in every few weeks and these last updates really show all those 7 years of work!
You will have this together for just when you are ready for another dozen eggs.
