Strong smell of petrol coming from the right hand carb. No side of any l leaks and I looked under to the fuel pump. No damp patches under the car. I had to fill with E10 the last 2 times could it be that evaporating?

Spent a riveting 3 hours with my 6 heads listening to an equally mind knumbing Smooth Radio scraping and polishin and then again prepping the heads for their twin plug machining.

I see you have the unequal stud length design ..... hmm ..... IF you were serious about weight loss (like I know someone is !) - then , assuming the flange is a constant thickness , and the short ones work ... then why would you not make them all short ?
... and I don't want any lame excuse like it makes assembly easier if there is a long stud to hang them on.

What you should be really focusing on is : what is the tie up of the port diameter to the exhaust manifold diameter ? If they are the same and there is clearance on the exhaust stud to flange hole diameter - what alligns them ? (and one cannot assume that everything centralises !) It's that attention to detail that finds the odd horsepower or two ??

If I had your patience just maybe I could focus on those details!
The port and tube dia's are the same, and if the flanges are right might even be concentric!
The headers are diy in a cold garage, I never contemplated having the pipe extend beyond the flange into the recess of the port.

They are almost equal length mind.

Sounds good - not sure where the idea of extending the pipe came from ?(last thing I would do ! ... approx)
If it's DIY , then it's probably close to correct ...... it's the mass produced stuff I would be concerned about.
