The 987.2 when full and @ 34 mpg etc was ranging at 445 miles.

I think next year we might skip the long run to Scotland and raid the West/North Yorks area.

Went out for a drive while the sun was out today - parked next to a newer version for that old vs new effect. How small our old cars are!!! So we do shrink with age

Done well, but engine needs some tlc.

I wiped the worst of the blood off my left thumb before the photo to protect the innocent!
The engine is in good health, as KS will confirm, and doesn’t justify taking out just to clean the surrounds which can’t be seen, and have barely a finger’s width of clearance to the bulkhead.

When I had my 914/6, I took it to Russell Lewis to have hydraulic tensioners fitted (he did it with the engine still in the car, which was an amazing feat of determination on a 914/6) and he said he'd change the fan belt while he was 'in there'. He told me that if the engine was ever out at any time, change the fan belt even if it had only been changed the week before 'It's a b@stard job so you might as well take advantage of the opportunity when you can...'. I can see why so many people cut an inspection hole in the bulkhead and have never understood why the factory didn't do that.
