No, it was a very tongue in cheek response to Yellow491, the VERY experienced Mr Howells.

Nearly as experienced as JW,learnt a lot from him in the early days,look where that got me to,a big addiction to motorsport;)

Maybe fortunately I missed the JW influence 31 years ago, but got mesmerised by Josh Sadler and a few others in the late 80's on the Midland hills.
My first encounter with JW was when his gearbox spat out it's side cover on Loton Park hillclimb start line where I was wheel chock man.

Tucked it up in the new garage. Next to the new ramp that arrived last week. Second fixed the electrics today so the door goes up and down, so it felt like the right time to get the car back home in its bed. Just some ramp building and painting to do.

Good progress

Just completed a very very wet and shortened trip to West Scotland in the perfect touring car, my 987.2 Boxster.
Rain and more of it, the odd rainbow and a gamble on petrol made this a different Scottish adventure we usually have. Good hotels, good food and a few surprises mind, so all good in the end. 1210 miles and 34.2 average mpg.
Great little car.

Garage envy. I'm curious whether you managed to build that garage under permitted development rights. Is the ridge less than 4m?

Great little car.

I'm sure that doesn't do 34mpg when driven correctly.

I've got 26 on a few occasions, but was driving solo, and there's the difference!

26! Not trying hard enough … I average 20mpg in my spyder

We briefly visited your part of the country today, north Yorkshire. Really nice, just got drowned!

I just don't blast around the UK anymore, too busy, too many coming at you when ready to overtake, just too much hassle.

Seen a lot of average speed cameras these last few days too.
Wondering if you will find petrol does not encourage hard acceleration..

Biggest difference for me is I'm retired!

I was only winding up … I,m lucky to have great roads on my doorstep to exercise the cars . Problem with my car is it has a small fuel tank so when touring I’ll be trying to get much better fuel economy . At the moment when I fill it up it only gives a range of 250 miles ! …
