I suspect you're right - as long as it lasts one more meeting then it's all coming out for a rebuild.

Put a tuna can on my 914. When to check the oil pressure was good after installing and the rpm counter didn't work :(. Checked I hadn't knocked a wire off the coil but nothing so easy.

Started to remove overriders and rubber strips from my 356 bumpers so they can be refurbished. Aim for plain bumpers, close to the body, with no overriders.ImageImage

My 911T bogs down badly at low revs, so it has to be revved up to 2,500+ even to crawl slowly through a crowd at an event. Couple this with an extremely loud aftermarket exhaust and a sticking throttle, and you have the perfect recipe for much hilarity.

Since the petrol tank leaks, I carry the fuel in a can and add what little I need as I need it. So when PCGB set off to parade through the ring at Lichfield cars in the park today, naturally I threw the kids in and was eager to participate. I was half expecting the accelerator linkage to pop off in the middle of the arena so I recruited friends who would run out and push us to safety if needs be. I had apologised in advance to pcgb in the event of breaking down.

Sadly, despite much revving, and with the the whole crowd watching and wondering what the racket was, the car ground to a halt before even entering the arena and we were forced to abandon our escapade. I got out to replenish the fuel tank from the can and returned with my tangerine tail between my legs to the parking area.

It was a great fun day. I received one offer to buy the car which I promptly sent packing and a great many compliments, and was reminded of our humanity by the young stranger who helped me push to the top of the hill to facilitate our roll home!

Great picture. :)
Used to fold my leggy daughter up into the back seat and off to many a hillclimb in the 911.
Treasured memories!! :drunken:

After a tinker with the Rennshift tower and the gearbox following the JW Engineering set-up video, the car changes gear better than ever.
Result!
