It’s been a while, and I had really lost my mojo with the car but with Classic Le Mans just around the corner, having a date in the diary really focused the mind and I’ve been beavering away in the garage. Today she had her first tank full of V Power. It feels so good to be out in her again. Still a few things to sort before Le Mans but it looks like it’s in touching distance.

The car looks so good, great 'stance' too, very usable imho.
The convoys down to CLM will be quite a sight, lots of early cars.

Just to update this thread, DDK came up trumps again after a number of members helped me unearth a little more info on my car. Minster very kindly sent an email on my behalf to the Swiss importer and they sent back a photo of the data card for my car.



It confirms that the car was indeed Swiss delivered and came with 2 options 404 antiroll bars front and rear and 440 a radio loud speaker and aerial.

It lists the tyres as 185-70-15, would this be standard? or should an E have 14 inch wheels?

It also states that the car was delivered to Schiller who I think was a Porsche dealer from Geneva. Heinz Schiller had a racing career and competed in a single GP in 1962 finishing 20th, he also raced on occasion for the Porsche factory team in various cars including 904's 550's and 356 Carrera's.

Quite cool. I will try to do some more digging and see if I can unearth some Swiss owners.

I was doing more digging on t’internet for the 21 M491 911 2.5 S-Rs and in particular the 6th one built (911 230 0872; production number 102 4077; engine number 662 2026 (type 911/70 MFI); gearbox number 712 0017 (type 915/00 with LSD) and found this old thread on DDK in which Schiller was mentioned…

The car was delivered to Schiller Racing Team (owner: former racing driver Heinz Schiller) in Geneva in Tangerine with black leatherette and black perforated leatherette insert following receipt of the order from Schiller on 27/01/1972, completion on 24/02/1972 and with an invoice date of 01/03/1972.

The car was raced in 1972 by either Florian Vetsch or Jean Selz (or both) at the 4 hours of Le Mans, 4 rounds of the European GT Championship, the Targa Florio (DNF) and two rounds of the Swiss Touring Car Championship:




The car was then updated to RSR spec for ‘73 and was entered in the 4 hours of Le Mans again with Selz and Vetch, finishing 1st in class and 10th overall and then the 24 hours in June finishing 8th in class and 16th overall:



Not much is known about Garage Schiller but I have managed to find this interesting photo of the garage with Heinz Schiller visible to the far right of the picture:
