I spent most of the day mixing concrete for the foundations of my new porsche only garage. i need the existing garage kept seperate as it's a workshop. i still don't know what building i'm going to build though

Went to Silverstone Classic with the PCGB.
Zillions of Porsches, everywhere, although he Triumph Stag owners club nearly outnumbered us. Never ever seen so many Stags before.
Got there early after splashing down the motorways in the rain and parked exactly where I did 2 years ago.

Nice meeting, nowhere near the numbers of visitors as normal, competition car quality about the same, so great.

Tango man Clive at the Silverstone Classic. Great to catch up.

Went hillclimbing at Wiscombe. Three runs, two PBs, so can't complain. For first time ever shifted from 2nd to 5th (and rapidly back to 3rd...) but still managed my best ever run in the 914.

Great day in the company of JWhillracer making his first (re)appearance in his legendary 911 since its rebuild.

Been there twice to watch, long way to tow! The Lola would love those wooded sweeps, not sure about the last two tight ones though...

Those odd gear boxes are great for a hillclimb, you can't easily, inadvertently, select first from 4th!

I think the bug has bitten you good and proppa', very well done indeed.

Yep, I'm hooked, but don't have the funds to be able to compete anywhere that requires an overnight stay, so Wiscombe is about my limit (hour and a half drive each way). But that leaves Wiscombe, Castle, Tregrehan and Werrington – and sprints at Portreath if I so wished (although I have to admit, I'm not bothered about sprints now...).

Now, where to find those extra tenths...

Breakfast meet at Goodwood today… a 3.5hr round trip from Muswell Hill for me.

On my last day out I ran out of fuel due to an imprecise fuel gauge (that’s my excuse) which vapour locked the system and caused the pump to ‘lock’. After a reinstall and run out to test it, it has been sitting for 6 or so weeks.

Today on the way out I dropped a cylinder, clearly a fouled plug remnant from this previous effort, luckily it cleared on the way out. Phew - but not what I wanted.

I had taken my neighbour on a day out (not a car guy) and sitting from his seat he saw a car on 5 (frustrated owner). A car on six (happy owner). The his seat kept jerking back under load or acceleration (still haven’t fixed that) and to top it all, his window pulled out of its runner due to tight rubber (I swapped them around as they had been installed back to front) and whether he wanted to or not, he got a window down experience (frustrated, happy and finally one embarrassed owner)!

Still, the car looked good. Hope you all had good days out!

It's drag racing that's truly addictive for me... Spectating since 1965, driving for 45+ years

I fitted the caliper that i rebuilt the other night. I've some ep grease to try on the bearings so one side has been done Will do the other side in the week and then bugger off out to dinner somewhere in it
