Maybe the mouse wrapped the insulation around the pump as it was disturbing his sleep ...

That's because the undertray hasn't been fitted in that photo...

Grant you (not my work) - but at least the aircraft nuts grip, unlike nylocs.

No need to feel sorry for the mouse, I also intend to be placed in my 356 in a mummified state when the time comes, preferably after a 917 led cortege Jo Siffert style

Thought my seat felt less comfortable than usual ... quick inspection showed one of the steel hooks holding the webbing in place had snapped . Quick search on eBay and a few new stainless webbing hooks ordered ... they’re pretty much the same as the originals just a bit shorter in their depth ( which means the webbing will be kept tighter )
Fitting the hooks to my webbing wasn’t quite a straightforward as I’d originally thought. When my seats were trimmed, the hooks must have been located in the webbing and then sewn in as there was no way the hooks were going in through the webbings fold over... thought I’d try the more ‘bodge’ way first by unpicking the cotton thread where the hooks attach to the end to increase the size of the hole ... and it worked. New clips fitted to old webbing ( pic of the side with the original hook )
Quick reassembly with some fannying on with the little staples holding the seat leather in place over the webbing hook location points on the frame and another little job complete
Looking good

Nice job James , you made that look very neat and easy.
I bet it feels most satisfying sitting in it .
I guess your back will thank you.

Washed 6 months of dust and flocking material off the racer, ready for the season, then up on the lift for an oil and filter
Can you see what is wrong with this pic?
Yep, no way to undo the sump drain plug or catch the oil!
A bit of repositioning fixed it, although the result oil spill was not much fun (it holds a bit more because of the deep sump, was draining from a greater height on the lift and was warm after running the car up). Hey ho
It also smelt a little fuelly, which after 2 years and only about 200 flat out miles is not a particularly great sign...
