how did you bugger it up? can you fix it?
you can use a vw unit , or fashion your own out of 2 easy to get relays and an tridon el13 - from the us
see
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche- ... 1-a-2.html
my hazard warning lights were not working, so was about to order the parts, but decided to take the flasher unit apart.
used a dremel to cut it open near where it joins to the brown base board, along the groove, cleaned up the terminals with some emery cloth and some
contact cleaner and now works a treat. well chuffed

Hi Paul
thats good news good news,
I am taking mine for MOT tuesday, just need to mask the US spec headlights which my MOT man has suggested.
where did you get the led instrument bulbs from?
do they make them brighter, I find the temp gauge light useless(3 gauge car)

Try warming it up gently. Probably a little damp in there. Mine does it if left for a while or used in the winter.
Sent you a mail regarding the mats after all this time. Sorry!

Sean

Let me know how you get on with the rev counter as I not only have the moisture problem. Also have a lazy speedo, and a temperature gauge that needs a light tap on the glass to get to work once there is temperature in the oil.
Oh the wonders of the 901 gear linkage! The crank shaft is a known weak link in the engine only having the three main bearings. Once you get the engine set up correctly it's surprising how well they go. It's all in the valve gaps, the carb sync, throttle sync between the carbs, and getting the ignition timing set for the advance above 3000 rpm.

Thought 4000rpm was a bit high for 55mph, think you get about 19mph per 1000revs in top gear

I get this on my temp gauge, when I turn the ignition on it sometimes does not move but like you say a light lap on the glass gets it to register. It's as though the needle is sticking at the bottom

bit off topic, but can anyone tell me how to wire from the gauge is connected to the temperature sensor at the engine.
I know what the sensor looks like cannot work out if there is a special connection to the wire.
A pic would be great if anyone has one
thanks
