As others have said, I just don't get it.
I was tempted to register so I could bid on an XK jag, they had low estimates but as it turns out I'm rather glad I didn't get time.... For the money they made I can buy a proper RHD one!

As an added bonus though, it seems the 356 market is buoyant. As is the 911 market, despite what the doom mongers are trying to tell us!

On the face of it any 911 IB or later looks manic, 2.2 S or 2.4 S look soggy, 996 C4 trading at the same level as the classic S seems there's a major realignment between earlys and lates, although condition is unclear e.g.996 with zero miles and very average classics

I was there on the Saturday, glad I didn't register to bid as the bids were way above what good cars cost at reputable dealers, most of these cars were in a pretty sorry state... Fascinating to watch the collection though.

As you were there wondered what you thought of the 185k 2.4S, looked from the listing as if it was a nice genuine 35k car, which would have made it good value, what was it like in reality?

so after the Eur185k 2.4S in Milan, yellow 2.4S at Bonhams today went for £203k.

For a fully restored yellow RHD 2.4S I'd say it's not that high at all really....

It was very good, seemed low kms and all genuine. Mostly first paint, all original unmarked interior. Has 380mm steering wheel and 7" rear Fuchs, they seem to have been on the car since a long time. It also had an incredibly complete toolkit, including the super-rare double face screwdriver, but it was stolen on friday (many small items "disappeared" from the cars).
I read that Simon Kidston wrote in his newsletter that this was the buy of the weekend.

Sounds as if that was a sweet little car then!!!
